Thousands of pupils in Kaduna State now have access to fresh learning materials, as a result of a joint effort between Kaduna SUBEB and the Partnership for Learning for All in Nigeria (PLANE).
A total of 317,882 literacy and numeracy materials were distributed across six Local Government Areas: Kaduna North, Kaduna South, Soba, Jaba, Sanga and Sabon Gari. This initiative will ensure pupils in both rural and urban schools have access to quality learning resources, improving literacy and numeracy outcomes across the State.
The distribution covered Hausa Literacy and Numeracy textbooks, and Teachers’ guides for Basic 5 and Basic 6. Further consignments will provide English Literacy and Numeracy materials for Basic 1–4.
Speaking at the flag-off held at the Kaduna North Local Government Education Authority, the Acting Executive Chairman KADSUBEB, Mubarak Mohammed, expressed appreciation to the Kaduna State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, for prioritizing education, and to FCDO-PLANE for their consistent support in complementing government efforts to improve basic education.
He emphasized the critical role of these materials in strengthening literacy and numeracy among learners in the state, particularly at the foundational level, while also providing essential support to teachers in the classroom.
With this initiative, Kaduna SUBEB reaffirms its commitment to ensuring that every child, regardless of background, has the tools needed to build a strong educational foundation and succeed in school.
