KADSUBEB Moves to Strengthen Extracurricular Activities in Basic Schools Across 23 LGAs

The Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing extracurricular activities, particularly sports, in basic schools across the twenty three local government areas of the state.

To this end, the Board convened a meeting with sports desk officers from all 23 LGAs to review ongoing activities, assess progress, and proffer solutions to challenges affecting sporting programmes in basic schools.

The meeting, led by the Ag. Director Schools Services, Muhammad Rabiu Idris, focused on strategies to improve sporting activities for the benefit of pupils in public schools. Deliberations also examined the condition of sports equipment distributed to schools in 2023 and 2024, as well as measures to improve education standards, address infrastructural gaps, and enhance both teacher and student performance.

These efforts align with the state government’s commitment to delivering quality, accessible, and affordable education.

Furthermore, the meeting harmonized strategies for the upcoming inter-local government basic school sports competitions, with a view to securing success at the state finals and addressing potential challenges that may hinder progress in basic education across Kaduna State.
