KADSUBEB Launches 2023/2024 Teacher Professional Development (TPD) Training Programme

The Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (KADSUBEB) has launched the 2023/2024 Teacher Professional Development (TPD) Training Programme, targeting about 8,102 teachers across the 23 Local Government Areas of the state.

The initiative aligns with the education reform agenda of Governor Uba Sani, aimed at strengthening the education system and building teachers’ capacity. It focuses on enhancing pedagogy, improving subject delivery in literacy, numeracy, science, and ECCDE, as well as promoting modern, learner centred teaching methods.

In his welcome address, the Executive Chairman, Mubarak Muhammad, reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to delivering quality education. He stated that access to education without quality is insufficient, while quality education cannot be achieved without capable teachers. He emphasized that the TPD programme is not a one time exercise, but a structured, scalable, and results-oriented initiative designed to improve classroom instruction across Kaduna State.

He commended Governor Uba Sani for his steadfast support and commitment, which made the programme possible.

Mubarak also highlighted key achievements of the administration in prioritizing teachers, including the introduction of the Kaduna Best Teacher of the Year Award, implementation of the national minimum wage for primary school teachers, clearance of promotion backlogs, resolution of the NUT Endwell Scheme, and the approval for the recruitment of 10,000 teachers.
