KADSUBEB Hosts KADAB on Courtesy Visit to strengthen Inclusive Education

The Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (KADSUBEB) received the Kaduna State Disability Welfare Board (KADAB) on a courtesy visit aimed at promoting inclusive education for children with disabilities across public primary and junior secondary schools in the state.

The engagement brought together officials from both agencies and was led by the Director of Special Education, Esther Jibji. Discussions centered on addressing existing gaps that often leave children with disabilities behind in classroom learning and participation.

Inclusive education remains a core priority of the administration of Malam Uba Sani, with a strong commitment to ensuring that every child has equal access to affordable, quality education for a better future.

Speaking during the meeting, the KADSUBEB representative, Esther Jibji, stated that the engagement reflects the state’s dedication to equitable access to education. She stressed that no child should be excluded on the basis of disability and described the meeting as part of ongoing efforts to identify barriers within schools and develop practical solutions that foster a safe and supportive learning environment for all.

In her remarks, the Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Disability Welfare Board, Rakiya A. Umar, expressed appreciation to KADSUBEB for its continued support. She emphasized the need for greater attention to critical areas such as infrastructure, teaching and learning materials, and awareness campaigns to combat stigma and discrimination, thereby encouraging parents to enroll children with disabilities in school.

She further commended KADSUBEB for prioritizing inclusive education and for its efforts in creating learner friendly environments across public schools in the state.
